CLIMATIC CONDITION :The K.V.NAGAON. Has a humid, subtropical climate with extremely heavy rainfall. It is subject to floods and earthquakes. Much of the area is covered with dense tropical forests of bamboo and, at higher elevations, evergreens. The Kaziranga National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985) is 65 km from NAGAON. It is famous for Rhino & Elephants. In July 2003 extensive floods in the northernmost areas of the state left large areas of the park's forestland submerged. Tea is cultivated in the near by regions.
